Why is my balance different from my bank's app?

Allocate shows your available balance for checking and savings accounts — that's the amount you can actually spend right now. Your bank app might show the current balance, which includes pending transactions that haven't cleared yet. The difference is usually pending deposits or holds. For credit cards, Allocate shows the amount you owe as a negative number.
