Got a 22% raise by having a competing offer

Was comfortable at my current company but feeling underpaid. Applied to 3 companies, got an offer 30% above my current TC. Brought it to my manager — they countered with 22% raise + promotion. Sometimes the best negotiation tool is a real alternative.

This is the way. Never negotiate without leverage. Did your manager ask you to stay before you even mentioned the offer?
